THE NARROW GAUGE

This September 1933 timetable for the Narrow Gauge not only extols the virtues and convenience of the railroad but also provides full information on all connecting transit services, including the Boston Elevated.

Typical of the early locomotives on the Boston, Revere Beach, & Lynn narrow-gauge railroad is the Leo, built in 1876 by the Hinckley Locomotive Works on Albany Street in Boston. The Leo was later sold to a Florida short-line railroad. A Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) bus garage now occupies the site of the Hinckley Locomotive Works.
